Bigger, Brighter Bannatyne’s – Interior Fit-Out

Posted on 12 February 2018

Very little work had been carried out at Bannatyne's Health Club and Spa in Brindley, Birmingham, since it was originally built in the late 1990s. Aside from day to day maintenance to the centre, it looked very much the same as it did upon its inception over 20 years ago. Our team at Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were asked to carry out a number of interior fit-outs at the centre, successfully completing an interior refurbishment project at the Bannatyne Health Club and Spa.

The refurbishment project consisted of stripping out the existing Gymnasium to form a whole new suite of Treatment Rooms and a Relaxation Area, as well as a new conference Room and Mind & Body Studio on the first floor.

Programme coordination was incredibly important for work on Bannatyne's Health Club and Spa. Causing minimum disruption to clients attending the centre was a top priority for the project, so all works needed to be coordinated and carried out on both day and night shifts throughout the 12-week contract period.

The project's safety was as much of a priority, working closely within the health centre. Because of our extensive planning and coordination, no accidents took place, resulting in a safe project to be involved with.

The programme coordination also ensured all of the works were completed within the 12-week contract period, held to the high standard we hold all of our projects to. We're incredibly proud of the results we achieved for Bannatyne's Health Club and Spa, creating a larger, brighter, more modern Health Club, letting clients experience a wider range of health and wellbeing facilities.

    Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were contacted in regard to getting involved in an urgent project to completely strip out and refurbish the Southwell Ward at Nottingham City Hospital. The brief to this project was that once commenced, this project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, a very tall undertaking based on the amount of work involved. However, after several meetings, a programme was put together which involved a large portion of the works being carried out on both days and nights, 6 days a week, in order to give all involved the best chance of completing the works to a very challenging timescale. The works undertaken involved the full strip out of the existing ward, including substantial M&E works, new flooring to all the wards, new doors, new counters and Kitchen units were also installed on the Joinery element of the works. New lay in grid Ceilings were installed along with specified LED Lighting upgrades and the whole ward was fully Decorated throughout.

This, in essence, was a monumental challenge for all involved, including the Architect, Consultants, the in-house NHS team, and, of course, the P&W site and Management team. The delivery of this project needed careful planning and completion of areas of the ward in a phased manner to ensure that all of the trades involved could access specific areas to complete their works. This was achieved for the most part due to thorough planning and due consideration given to all of the trades participating on the project.

Pacy & Wheatley have now delivered a modern, state-of-the-art facility for both Hospital patients and staff, completed in record time. Thanks must go to all involved for their dedication and application in ensuring we got over the line and completed this project. Many Thanks to both Adam Cox ( Site Manager ) along with Steve Shaw ( Project Manager ) and Charlotte Wheatley ( Project QS ) for their outstanding effort in delivering this project which was delivered with zero accidents which in itself is a testament to the planning and execution of the works.
