Interior Hotel Refurbishment Bristol

Posted on 4 April 2018

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have completed an interior hotel refurbishment for the Holiday Inn Express in Bristol; in just five weeks! We were appointed by our client, Atlas Hotels, to upgrade and modernise the public areas of the hotel within the ground floor. The works were completed within an incredibly tight time frame, causing minimum disruption to the hotel and its guests.

The Holiday Inn Express remained open throughout the five-week period our team worked, so the first order of business was to seal off the ground floor area where the works were taking place. Our team then completely gutted the interiors of the area, knocking out various internal walls.

Next came the several refurbishments themselves. Our team installed new floors and ceilings, complete with new lighting, to give the area a brighter, more modern look. We also installed a new bar area, encouraging rest and relaxation for guests at the hotel. Finally, the existing toilets were refurbished and the whole area totally redecorated.

The Holiday Inn Express in Bristol is now a brighter, more modern, more inviting place to stay. Atlas Hotels were delighted with the end result, and have assured us that they have received some great customer feedback following the transformation.

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have previous experience with hotel refurbishments, previously working with the Holiday Inn Express brand in Manchester, where we were appointed to carry out refurbishments to the existing breakfast room, repairing and replacing worktops in the area that had become worn and scratched. At Pacy & Wheatley, we use five decades' experience across all three divisions – Construction, Acoustics & Interiors – to deliver top quality work to all our clients. We were delighted with the outcome of work at the Holiday Inn Express at Bristol. And, with some great customer feedback, our client was delighted too.

    Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were contacted in regard to getting involved in an urgent project to completely strip out and refurbish the Southwell Ward at Nottingham City Hospital. The brief to this project was that once commenced, this project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, a very tall undertaking based on the amount of work involved. However, after several meetings, a programme was put together which involved a large portion of the works being carried out on both days and nights, 6 days a week, in order to give all involved the best chance of completing the works to a very challenging timescale. The works undertaken involved the full strip out of the existing ward, including substantial M&E works, new flooring to all the wards, new doors, new counters and Kitchen units were also installed on the Joinery element of the works. New lay in grid Ceilings were installed along with specified LED Lighting upgrades and the whole ward was fully Decorated throughout.

This, in essence, was a monumental challenge for all involved, including the Architect, Consultants, the in-house NHS team, and, of course, the P&W site and Management team. The delivery of this project needed careful planning and completion of areas of the ward in a phased manner to ensure that all of the trades involved could access specific areas to complete their works. This was achieved for the most part due to thorough planning and due consideration given to all of the trades participating on the project.

Pacy & Wheatley have now delivered a modern, state-of-the-art facility for both Hospital patients and staff, completed in record time. Thanks must go to all involved for their dedication and application in ensuring we got over the line and completed this project. Many Thanks to both Adam Cox ( Site Manager ) along with Steve Shaw ( Project Manager ) and Charlotte Wheatley ( Project QS ) for their outstanding effort in delivering this project which was delivered with zero accidents which in itself is a testament to the planning and execution of the works.
