Keepmoat Stadium Interior Refurbishments
Posted on 14 November 2018
It was a pleasure to work with our hometown club, Doncaster Rovers, providing various interior refurbishments to the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster. Originally opened for its first rugby league match on 27th December 2006, with the first football match on New Year's Day 2007 where Doncaster Rovers beat Huddersfield Town 3-0, the stadium officially opened its doors later that year, in August 2007.
Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were tasked with creating a contemporary feel to the Directors' Lounge, and to bring a more relaxed feel to the Directors' Box and the Doncaster Rovers brand as a whole. The works included new toilet facilities, a new bar, new trophy cabinet, and the total remodelling of the existing lounge, box and seating areas. As the new season was fast approaching, we had a six-week turnaround period from project start to completion.
Close liaison between our team, the architect, and the club directors ensured the design period progressed quickly. Because the new season was ahead of us, our design proposals had to be collated and agreed very quickly, including the bar designs and trophy cabinets.
Many of the new decoration and designs were specially designed and manufactured with the Doncaster Rovers Football Club logo. The club logo was included on newly designed carpets, as well as within the back rests of the new balcony seating. Our team also completed ceiling designs and feature columns, as well as a curved wall within the corridor to highlight the prestigious area.
The project was fully completed within the six-week timeframe and ready for the first friendly game of the new season. The clients were delighted with the refurbishments, and it was a great opportunity to work with Doncaster Rovers, our hometown football club, at their stadium.
