Major Refurbishments at the Marriott
Posted on 15 June 2018
The Pacy & Wheatley Interiors team have completed a huge refurbishment project at the prestigious Marriott Hotel, Heathrow – one of our most challenging projects to date!
Based just half a mile from Heathrow Airport, the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel is an ideal location for business commuters, leisure travellers and flight crews. Because the flight crews come and go at all times of the day and night, the whole refurbishment project had to be very delicately managed to minimise inconvenience to all guests staying at the hotel. These restrictions were a challenge to work around, but the whole team are incredibly proud of the finished project.
The works included major interior refurbishment to the Conference and Banqueting areas of the hotel. We opened up a previously rather dated and cluttered ground floor area, updating it with a new bespoke steel staircase, marble flooring and soft carpet areas. Our team fully refurbished the existing rest rooms, stripping out the finishes and sanitary ware and installing new, more modern replacements.
Fully Refurbished Reception
The reception area of the hotel was also fully refurbished, with an additional automatic door installed. The new entrance/exit was designed to facilitate an increasing number of people coming and going around the clock in the busy hotel. Four all new meeting and conference rooms were also formed, along with a state of the art executive lounge and gift shop.
Initially, the project was set to take place over 16 weeks. However, due to ongoing design changes and working restrictions, the project changed to a 40-week fit out period. Our lighting and flooring installations, as well as decorations, were changed more than once while the works were in progress, adding to the challenging fit out process.
The completed project looks fantastic. The hotel management and guests are incredibly pleased with the interior refurbishments, and our team are proud of the exceptional work on this challenging project. Read more about the work on our Case Study page.
