Hotel Refurbishment, Manchester

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Interiors have completed a hotel refurbishment for the Holiday Inn in Salford Quays, Manchester. The Holiday Inn is a small, contemporary hotel set by the water. The hotel overlooks the Manchester Ship Canal within the Salford Quays development and was built around 2001. It was decided earlier this year to upgrade the breakfast dining area. We were appointed on a negotiated cost basis to carry out an upgrade to the tired looking breakfast room. The works involved upgrading the Corian worktops within this area as they had become worn and scratched. Cracks were appearing which looked unprofessional, and the worktops were becoming unfit for purpose. We carried out repairs to the worktops and replaced the ones which were beyond repair. The works needed to be coordinated in such a way to minimise disruption to guests staying at the hotel. This meant that we could not commence our works until after 10am and had to vacate the area by 5pm. The solution achieved was a brighter, more functional breakfast dining experience.

Interior Fit Out, Nottingham

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have completed an interior fit out for Aldi in Nottingham. We were invited to tender for the Aldi fit out due to a prior relationship between Tim Scott (P&W Interiors Director) and the Forge Project Management practice. As such we have had the opportunity to tender for many projects over the last 3 years in the Yorkshire and East Midlands area, subsequently winning the Edwalton project. We worked closely with the appointed architect and site management as many elements of the fit out involved free issue items supplied directly from Germany, including the suspended ceiling system, store racking, wall panelling and checkouts. Our site team went the extra mile to ensure the project was handed over, on time and to the required standard. A professionally run site with high standards of health and safety being maintained throughout the project duration of which resulted in zero accidents. With special attention to ensure Covid – 19 guidelines were stringently adhered to.

Hotel Interior Refurbishment, London

The Project

The project at The Marriott Hotel, London, involved major interior refurbishment works to the Conference & Banqueting areas to the very busy 4* hotel. The task was to open up a rather dated and cluttered ground floor area incorporating a new bespoke steel staircase, new marble flooring and soft carpet areas. The project also included the full refurbishment of existing rest rooms where all the finishes and sanitary ware was stripped out and all new installed. Lighting, flooring and decoration were also changed more than once due to design changes whilst works were in progress.

4 new meeting and conference rooms were formed, along with a state of the art executive lounge and gift shop. The hotel reception area was fully refurbished and the entrance was altered to add a further automatic door entrance/exit facility to facilitate the number of people coming and going in this very busy hotel. The hotel is used for flight crews who come and go at all times of the day and night. This affected our programme of works as we were constantly stopped from working due to noise restrictions requiring the project to be very delicately managed by our site team in order to mitigate any inconvenience to the hotel guests.

This had no effect on the outcome of the project and was handed over on time, with zero defects.

Interior Fit Out, Halifax

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed the interior fit-out to the laboratories at GAMA Healthcare in Halifax. We worked closely with the appointed Architect and site Management as many elements of the fit-out required input and advice from P&W. This was a new client, so as such, a lot of what we did needed careful planning and vast communication. The works consisted of new offices and laboratories being formed within the existing building. New lighting, new flooring, new soundproof walls, ceilings, decoration and upgraded electrical lighting have been installed

Strip out, UK

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley were appointed on an agreed rates basis to carry out the strip out of 18 RBS branches throughout the UK. We carried out the works based on an individual scope of works produced for each branch put together by RBS. The works included the removal of all external and internal signage, removal of counters, white washing of windows, removal of carpets and all IT items. Each strip out was carried out over a seven-working-day timeframe. During this time, we had to carefully liaise with direct suppliers of RBS in order for specialist items to be collected, such as cash machines, safes, and RBS documents. Over the close-down period we have had to deal with and coordinate up to 5 specialist suppliers in order to get the building cleared of everything, ensuring all items being collected were taken by the correct supplier and then taken on to the correct relevant storage facilities. All projects have been completed on time, on budget and with zero accidents to everyone involved. The works resulted in former banking facilities being stripped out and left fit for use by another retail outlet.

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors, experienced interior fit-out contractors, are happy to have completed an interior refurbishment and fit out solution for Ready Steady Store in Worthing, Sussex.
