The Project

To fit out a recently re modeled town centre retail outlet which is a grade 2 listed building into a high specification Kitchen Showroom. The works involved minimal stripping out of staircases and existing carpets. It was then our goal to commence a very involved fit out and complete it all in a very short 5 week period and have the store ready for the Boxing day sales having not begun on site until November 17th. In this fit out period we had to install a new Plywood floor and then lay new vinyl on to it to enable the rest of the works to continue. There was also a sizeable basement in this store where we had to damp proof both the floor and the walls before this area of the store could be fitted out. There was also a necessity to install both a new staff area and Toilet facilities within this basement area. We had to then commence with a new heating and ventilation system, this had to be carefully designed due to the fact that we could not install an air conditioning system because of planning not being approved for the external condensers.

We then commenced work on the main showroom area which involved the installation of a new Disabled Toilet facility, a new suspended ceiling throughout, full decoration. Electrical installation and the setting out and installing of new Kitchen wall sets. We then took the first delivery of the Kitchen product, the second being due a week later and once the walls were decorated began to install the Kitchen sets. On completion of the fitting of the Kitchen product planning areas were formed where the planners had laptops and Televisions installed making this a state of the art section of the store where 3D images of how the potential customer’s Kitchen would look when completed would be shown on the Television screen

The end product produced was a high specification Kitchen showroom completed in a prominent position within the main Town centre of Altrincham.

The Solution

This particular store is set on a very busy high street. There was no room for any kind of site set up or for any storage either internally or externally We had a small courtyard where we could locate a skip at the back of the store. This project was very challenging logistically and required very slick communication and coordination throughout. We had to schedule deliveries of materials into strict regulated time-slots otherwise they could not be off loaded and this demanded high levels of management to ensure safe distribution of materials. However we stuck to the challenge and completed a very difficult project on time and on budget to the delight of the client.

The Testimonials

“The store looked splendid and I’m delighted with the standard of finish achieved on such a short program and restricted site, my thanks to all involved. “
