The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Interiors have completed a fantastic Retail Refurbishment for Magnet in Islington, London. The high street location was formerly a Gym facility and was an especially challenging project due to the fact that the store was on a busy high street with residential apartments above the store. This meant that before works commenced we had to write to each resident who lived above the property to explain the works we were due to carry out, the hours to be worked and the duration of the fit out. This meant that we had to plan our works to avoid any noisy operations taking place either early in the morning or after 6pm in the evening, there was also very limited weekend working allowed meaning slick planning of the various elements of the works. The works involved stripping out the old main sales area and welfare areas including floor finishes and ceilings, and laying a new Ceramic tiled floor.

The store was also fitted with new air conditioning, new ceilings and will be fully decorated both externally and internally. There will also be a new staff area and disabled Toilet fitted. New Kitchen product will then be fitted into pre made room sets to form individual fully illuminated Kitchen sets that will be displayed to the general public. State of the art planning areas were also installed where store technicians will produce layouts of potential new Kitchens for members of the general public. The design of the stores is very demanding and need high levels of communication and site meetings to ensure clarity between the many contractors involved as well as the direct trades who work for the client. Health and safety on this project needed to be sharp and thorough to ensure zero accidents were achieved.

The Solution

This particular store is set on a very busy high street. There was only a small area in the rear residential car park where we could locate a skip and the need for consideration to the residents was of paramount importance. The store was on a main road in North London so our numerous deliveries had to be prearranged and very well coordinated for a number of reasons including when we would have space in the store and also to ensure that the deliveries came within the designated working hours. Design and project progress meetings were held on a regular basis and with a can do attitude P&W Interiors achieved handover on time and on Budget, Also H&S was managed throughout the process well and with zero accidents. Another Hard high street location completed to the clients full satisfaction.
