Interior Fit Out Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Project Description

We were approached by a new client back in 2022 in regard to the potential major refurbishment of the Pleasure Beach Arcade in Blackpool. The challenge was to strip out all of the internal finishes of the Arcade, including wall boarding, lighting ceilings and floor finishes. The programme on this particular site was very challenging, as were the logistics involved. However, our team battled manfully and achieved completion on time and within budget. The end result is now a much better, fresher and cleaner Arcade, which is now much more user-friendly for visitors. A whole new lighting scheme was installed, new carpeted areas were installed, and full decoration and feature walls and ceilings were installed.

Great effort was made by on-site supervisor Rio Shaw and his site team. The project was completed to very high health and safety standards, resulting in zero accidents.

The end result creates a more modern and fresh eating and drinking area, ensuring a better and more relaxing feel for the Hotel guests.

Holiday Inn Express Bedford was completed in 10 working days and successfully handed over to a very happy client. A big well done, and thank you to our site team, which includes Warren Horton and James Hilditch.

The first of a rollout of this nature.

Hotel Refurbishment, Manchester

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Interiors have completed a hotel refurbishment for the Holiday Inn in Salford Quays, Manchester. The Holiday Inn is a small, contemporary hotel set by the water. The hotel overlooks the Manchester Ship Canal within the Salford Quays development and was built around 2001. It was decided earlier this year to upgrade the breakfast dining area. We were appointed on a negotiated cost basis to carry out an upgrade to the tired looking breakfast room. The works involved upgrading the Corian worktops within this area as they had become worn and scratched. Cracks were appearing which looked unprofessional, and the worktops were becoming unfit for purpose. We carried out repairs to the worktops and replaced the ones which were beyond repair. The works needed to be coordinated in such a way to minimise disruption to guests staying at the hotel. This meant that we could not commence our works until after 10am and had to vacate the area by 5pm. The solution achieved was a brighter, more functional breakfast dining experience.

Sherwood Center Parcs Refurbishment

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley were appointed as the main contractor to carry out both internal and external refurbishment to various areas of Center Parcs, Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire. The job comprised of numerous internal and external refurbishments and upgrades throughout the main square of Center Parcs. This included External cladding to the ATM area, Internal upgrades to the Adult Changing Room facilities, External cladding, rendering and redecoration to the Rajinda Pradesh and Bella Italia restaurants. The project was carried out over a 6 week programme, working on extremely flexible hours, over 2 phases of the day (6-11, 4-10). This had no effect on the outcome of the project and was handed over on time, with zero defects.

Hotel Interior Refurbishment, London

The Project

The project at The Marriott Hotel, London, involved major interior refurbishment works to the Conference & Banqueting areas to the very busy 4* hotel. The task was to open up a rather dated and cluttered ground floor area incorporating a new bespoke steel staircase, new marble flooring and soft carpet areas. The project also included the full refurbishment of existing rest rooms where all the finishes and sanitary ware was stripped out and all new installed. Lighting, flooring and decoration were also changed more than once due to design changes whilst works were in progress.

4 new meeting and conference rooms were formed, along with a state of the art executive lounge and gift shop. The hotel reception area was fully refurbished and the entrance was altered to add a further automatic door entrance/exit facility to facilitate the number of people coming and going in this very busy hotel. The hotel is used for flight crews who come and go at all times of the day and night. This affected our programme of works as we were constantly stopped from working due to noise restrictions requiring the project to be very delicately managed by our site team in order to mitigate any inconvenience to the hotel guests.

Refurbishment at Bridlington Spa

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Interiors became involved with a retail refurbishment, at Bridlington Spa, through the Yorbuild framework. We worked with East Riding council to create a new bar and complete the remodeling of the main space to provide a modern and contemporary feel. The refurbishment also included a new flooring and bar to the entire reception entrance with views of the south Bay. The original Spa on the site was built in 1896, which consisted of a theatre and seaside pavilion. A fire in the theatre destroyed the venue in1906 and a then a replacement opera house was built in 1907, and this still forms part of the building today. In 1914 the local authority took control of the buildings, acquiring the building in 1919, then in 1926 rebuilt all but the theatre. In 1932 another fire destroyed these later buildings, and immediately work started to construct their replacement, which is what you see today.

Toilet refurbishment, Harrogate

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have now completed the toilet refurbishment project for Harrogate Borough Council. The 6-week scheme consisted of a complete strip out and refurbishment of the king’s suite toilets at the Harrogate Convention Centre. The demolition works included the removal of all existing cubicles, services, floor tiles and suspended ceilings for it all to be replaced with new, updated products and systems to give the area a fresh modern look.

Full new ceilings and lighting have also been installed along with new seating areas and meet and greet section. New flooring has been laid within the restaurant area and sections of back of house. Alterations to the existing mechanical services have taken place to facilitate the introduction of the new facilities.
