Project Description
This project involves the hospital refurbishment in Nottingham of CT 5, a specialist scanner suite. The existing CT 5 suite was completely stripped out, including all ceilings, flooring, walls, and redundant electrical systems. All new Ceilings, flooring and lighting have been installed to facilitate the installation of a new state-of-the-art body scanner. We have also constructed a new outbuilding to house and maintain the newly installed AHU units. The project is now very close to completion and will be handed back to the client in early July.
The Challenge
As this is a very busy area of the hospital, special consideration was given to specific site logistics as we were refurbishing CT 5, but there are also further scanner suites nearby, so as such, patients who were within the vicinity whilst our works were progressing so planning and communication with the hospital staff was of paramount importance. The most difficult phase of the work was when the body scanner arrived, as we had to close areas of access and egress to be able to get the body scanner into position within CT 5. Working in live environments is always a challenge, but we planned everything very well, so all went to plan. A great effort by Paul Wake, our on-site supervisor, and his team on a job well done
Well done so far on a job well done to John Longstaff and his site team, who are making excellent progress.
