Project Description

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have been given the amazing opportunity to carry out the works for the construction of the new helicopter pad at Sheffield Children’s Hospital which is programmed to commence in March till mid 2024. This forms part of the £6m overall project at Sheffield Children’s to completely provide the helipad service at the Hospital. The new helipad will be installed above the existing Stephenson Building, and the works associated is as follows:

Erection of a new complex steel frame and cladded structure which will house two new lifts, a plant room with new fire escape stairs taking you in the main building. Installation of steel bridge structure from the extended lift core onto Stephenson Building roof for Bayard’s to build their new purpose-built helipad on to. Construction of 2 new fire escape staircases from the helipad level to the Stephenson’s block. Removal of the Stephenson rooftop plant room and building a modern newbuilt one under the helideck. Procure and manage the installation of a complete helipad package supplied by Bayard’s. Internal fit-out works for the access/ egress from the helipad into the hospital. M&E service installation for the new helideck. Installation of cladded façade to the rooftop of the hospital.
