Project Description
We are stripping out the existing finishes, and some non-structural walls are being taken out to form new space to create commercial units on the ground floor and accommodation on the first floor.
The roof of the main building is also having major repairs carried out. The existing chimneys have been removed, and subsequent repairs and alterations are being made. The building is being fully decorated internally, with new lighting and heating systems being installed.
To the front of the building externally, minor repairs are being carried out to the existing windows, and the stonework frontage is being professionally cleaned. New doors, Kitchens, etc, are being installed, as well as new internal doors to meet the project's new design concept.
The Challenge
As this is a listed building, there are areas of the building that need to remain as they presently stand. This is challenging logistically as work needs to be carried out close to these areas in a delicate way to not disturb the areas that need to be maintained.
This is also an ancient building where the stripping had to be carried out carefully and meticulously; a lot of care was taken in all areas of this building regarding the refurbishment works.
