Project Description
We have stripped out the existing finishes, and some non-structural walls have been taken out to form new space for a residential interior fit-out in Gainsborough, creating commercial units on the ground floor and accommodation on the first floor. Major repairs have been carried out to the roof of the main building. The existing Chimneys have been removed, and subsequent repairs and alterations have occurred. The building is being fully decorated internally, and new lighting and heating systems are being installed.
To the front of the building externally, minor repairs have been carried out to the existing windows, and the stonework frontage has been professionally cleaned. New doors, Kitchens, etc., have been installed, and new internal doors have been installed to meet the project's latest design concept.
The Challenge
As this is a listed building, some areas need to remain as they are. This has been logistically challenging as work needs to be carried out close to these areas delicately so as not to disturb the areas that need to be maintained. This is also a very old building, so the stripping had to be carried out carefully and meticulously. Much care has taken place in all areas of this building regarding the refurbishment works.
The project is now completed to a very high standard. Health and Safety issues have been prevalent and have been managed in such a way that has resulted in zero accidents, which has been a credit to the site and project management team.
