The Pacy & Wheatley Group are celebrating our 50th anniversary! Over 50 years of business, Pacy & Wheatley – founded by David Wheatley in 1968 – have expanded our services. Starting from Construction 50 years ago, Pacy & Wheatley expanded to include a separate Acoustics division in 1995, and our newest division, Pacy & Wheatley Interiors in 2015. The Pacy & Wheatley Group are proud to be a family-run business, with founder David Wheatley sitting on the Board of Directors along with two sons, Anthony and Craig. At Pacy & Wheatley Interiors, we specialise in Shop Fitting, Interior Fit Out, Dry Lining and Partitions, and, working closely with our sister company Pacy & Wheatley Acoustics, Suspended Ceilings.

Over the years, interior work was becoming increasingly important for the Pacy & Wheatley Group. There was an increased demand from our customers for interior work, such as Shop Fitting, and the job would often fall somewhere between the two existing divisions of Construction and Acoustics. This created a lot of operational crossover, with communications proving challenging between the two groups.

The board decided a new division was necessary, separating key interior services to ensure complete focus on all interior projects. They wanted to bring together a dedicated team, with dedicated management and a dedicated marketing plan. Headed by Craig Wheatley, the Pacy & Wheatley Group moved interiors from a secondary service to its own division, Pacy & Wheatley Interiors, aspiring to become a leading UK interior solutions company.

Although Pacy & Wheatley Interiors are the newest division of the 50-year-strong Pacy & Wheatley Group, we are proud to have already built an impressive portfolio, working with many national and international brands. Our customers include Tesco – the world's second largest retailer – the Co-Operative, Holiday Inn, Mark's & Spencer, Bannatyne's Health Clubs, and Magnet, who specialise in kitchens, and regularly use Pacy & Wheatley Interiors to fit out or refurbish new and existing stores.

Over 50 years, Pacy & Wheatley have seen and managed many changes within the construction industry. Our Interiors division aspires to stay ahead of the curve, and remain one of the UK's leading interior commercial solutions providers.

    Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were contacted in regard to getting involved in an urgent project to completely strip out and refurbish the Southwell Ward at Nottingham City Hospital. The brief to this project was that once commenced, this project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, a very tall undertaking based on the amount of work involved. However, after several meetings, a programme was put together which involved a large portion of the works being carried out on both days and nights, 6 days a week, in order to give all involved the best chance of completing the works to a very challenging timescale. The works undertaken involved the full strip out of the existing ward, including substantial M&E works, new flooring to all the wards, new doors, new counters and Kitchen units were also installed on the Joinery element of the works. New lay in grid Ceilings were installed along with specified LED Lighting upgrades and the whole ward was fully Decorated throughout.

This, in essence, was a monumental challenge for all involved, including the Architect, Consultants, the in-house NHS team, and, of course, the P&W site and Management team. The delivery of this project needed careful planning and completion of areas of the ward in a phased manner to ensure that all of the trades involved could access specific areas to complete their works. This was achieved for the most part due to thorough planning and due consideration given to all of the trades participating on the project.

Pacy & Wheatley have now delivered a modern, state-of-the-art facility for both Hospital patients and staff, completed in record time. Thanks must go to all involved for their dedication and application in ensuring we got over the line and completed this project. Many Thanks to both Adam Cox ( Site Manager ) along with Steve Shaw ( Project Manager ) and Charlotte Wheatley ( Project QS ) for their outstanding effort in delivering this project which was delivered with zero accidents which in itself is a testament to the planning and execution of the works.
