Aldi, Whitehaven
Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have recently completed the interior fit-out of a new build Aldi store in Whitehaven, Cumbria. The site and project Management team from Pacy & Wheatley worked diligently and professionally throughout the fit-out works to deliver a finished product which we are all very impressed with. The works produced are of a very high standard, and the client appears to be very satisfied with what has been achieved. As always, there are bumps in the road on these projects. However, the team on site dealt with everything thrown at them, especially towards the end when practical completion was looming.
Another impressive performance from the Pacy & Wheatley team, and I hope that they keep up the good work on future projects.

The Pacy & Wheatley group were actively involved in tendering for the installation of a new external standalone classroom. This project was awarded based on a design and build contract. The works initially involved the demolition of an existing external classroom in order to clear space for the setting out and installation of the new classroom. The works undertaken in creating the new classroom involved a quite intricate drainage design so as to make use of the space available with the intention of low maintenance and at an affordable cost, which we believe has been achieved.

This modern classroom design involved the supply and installation of solar panels located on the classroom roof, the installation of triple-glazed windows, with the intention of reducing heating bills and producing the most economical designs to help ensure that this classroom operates as economically as possible. Pacy & Wheatley were very accommodating in terms of the design and worked with the appointed consultants to try to ensure the best installation practices. The overall project was run very professionally by the on-site Manager, Kevin Winterburn, Project Manager Steve Shaw and all of the wider site team and specialist consultants. P&W had to endure adverse weather conditions at times whilst the construction process was underway, but eventually all of these weather-related issues were overcome and meant that the project was only delayed slightly from the originally agreed date of practical completion. The internal finishes of the project are completed to a high standard in terms of decoration, new flooring, new lighting and the installation of new joinery, including Fire doors, Toilet Cubicles and Kitchen units.
A major achievement on this project was that throughout the installation works, there were no accidents, a great achievement due mainly to the coordination and professional delivery of the project from the greater site team.

Sheffield Children’s Home (Helipad)
The Pacy & Wheatley group were actively involved in tendering for the installation of a Helipad at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and after a period of confirmation of specification/s were awarded this project. The award was based on costs, quality of tender submission and what was also taken into consideration was the past performance on previous projects carried out on this site by the Pay & Wheatley group. This project in itself presented a huge challenge to all involved, including the appointed Architect, Structural Engineer, and the Hospital Estates department, all working together in order to deliver this prestigious legacy project.
There were many challenges which presented themselves whilst the works were in progress, but both the Pacy & Wheatley site team and project Management team, along with the dedication and professionalism of the supply chain, ensured that collectively all of these challenges were eventually overcome. Pacy & Wheatley and their site team had to endure severe Weather conditions through the Winter months, whilst works were in progress, when on a few occasions, crane lifts had to be suspended due to high Winds and driving Rain.

However, the team never gave up, and eventually the project was completed, and this is due to the collaboration of all of the parties involved working together and putting in the hard yards to ensure the project was handed over, albeit later than anticipated, but this was due mainly to adverse Weather conditions through Winter.

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors have recently completed a fit-out project at the Aldi store on Mill Lane in Durham. They were commissioned to carry out this project based on tendering on a schedule of rates. I would like to say that I was extremely pleased with the level of professionalism adopted by the Pacy & Wheatley team in regard to delivering this project. These types of projects are demanding in terms of time and logistics, and Pacy & Wheatley, despite not carrying out a fit-out for Aldi for a number of months, adapted adequately and positively to the demands imposed on them. The project was delivered to a high standard, on time and to budget. The whole Pacy & Wheatley team were dedicated and diligent in their approach to delivering this project, and I can say that I would have no hesitation in both recommending them for future projects of this kind, and I would also be relaxed and happy to work with them again in the future.

Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust
Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were contacted in regard to getting involved in an urgent project to completely strip out and refurbish the Southwell Ward at Nottingham City Hospital. The brief to this project was that once commenced, this project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, a very tall undertaking based on the amount of work involved. However, after several meetings, a programme was put together which involved a large portion of the works being carried out on both days and nights, 6 days a week, in order to give all involved the best chance of completing the works to a very challenging timescale. The works undertaken involved the full strip out of the existing ward, including substantial M&E works, new flooring to all the wards, new doors, new counters and Kitchen units were also installed on the Joinery element of the works. New lay in grid Ceilings were installed along with specified LED Lighting upgrades and the whole ward was fully Decorated throughout.

Pacy & Wheatley were commissioned following a successful tender submission to carry out the full refurbishment of a new build modern self-storage facility. This project was based on a 30-week fit-out programme, of which Pacy & Wheatley carried out the Principal Contractor role. I have worked with Pacy & Wheatley since 2015 where they have carried out numerous fit out contracts for our company and in all the time, I have worked with them they have always been very engaging and professional in their approach to these projects. Some of our projects on existing buildings have required major demolition works internally, and Pacy & Wheatley have procured and managed all of the aspects of demolition. I mention the demolition as I realise that this element of work is not something Pacy & Wheatley Interiors carry out on a regular basis, but as always, they sourced a reputable demolition company, which they managed successfully, resulting in the demolition works being completed on time and to budget. I would also like to add that these projects are demanding and subject to many changes along the way, all of which Pacy & Wheatley dealt with, which, from my point of view, is exactly what I expect from them.
I am highly delighted with recommending Pacy & Wheatley to other prospective clients, as I have enjoyed working with them over the years and look forward to working with them again in the future.

I have worked with Pacy & Wheatley for many years on a variety of projects, all within the Self-Storage sector. We have worked together on very large multi storey sites as well as renovating dilapidated old buildings into state of the art 24 hour access centres.
