Interior Refurbishment
Pacy & Wheatley Interiors are specialist interior fit-out contractors with over 50 years of experience within the commercial industry. We are proud to have worked with household names and brands such as Heston Blumenthal’s restaurant, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, London, and the great banking halls within the Bank of England; we are the national company of choice regarding interior refurbishment or fit-outs.
Our office refurbishment services focus on delivering enhanced and improved space and major aesthetic improvements that offer significantly improved working habitats for your teams. After meeting with you and your team, we can ascertain where your workspace can and should be improved. Our specialist design team can then construct plans with a proposed layout suggesting the necessary improvements.
For example, we can suggest a new office layout to facilitate a better workflow between staff members. Office layouts can be adjusted cost-effectively with partitions. For a professional finish allowing light to flow throughout the room, we can integrate a full-height glazed partition with your company logo; take a look at a recent case study for a small local business.

Hotel Refurbishment
Some work that we are extremely proud of was on behalf of Holiday Inn. We’ve completed hotel refurbishments for them in Manchester, Stevenage and Birmingham.
In Manchester we upgraded their breakfast dining area, repairing and replacing worn Corian worktops whilst minimising disruption to the guests staying at the hotel by starting works after 10am and finishing before 5pm.
For the Stevenage hotel, we carried out a full refurbishment of the bar and breakfast area, putting in new flooring, lighting, furniture, decoration, as well as the supply and installation of fixed furniture in some areas, resulting in a more modern area for guests to eat, drink and relax.
Over in Birmingham, we completed refurbishment of all the public areas of the hotel, due to it being tired and dated after a recent purchase from a competitor. The hotel was to remain open during the 6 weeks of work, so we needed to seal off the ground floor for safety. Our team knocked out multiple walls and completely redesigned multiple areas with new ceilings, flooring and lighting, including the kitchen and toilets, plus the installation of a new reception, bar, and buffet area.
Each project we undertake follows a clear and structured process, from initial consultation and detailed planning through to installation and final handover. Our project managers coordinate closely with clients and suppliers to ensure deadlines are met, budgets are controlled, and work is completed to the highest standard.
We take pride in delivering consistent quality across every aspect of interior refurbishment, no matter the scale or complexity of the project.
Trusted Company
As one of the UK’s leading shopfitting companies, we know the importance of retail design; ensuring your brand and products are presented in a modern and aesthetically appropriate environment does increase your average sales per square foot or basket size. Our design team can help improve your shop layout design and create new trial concept retail environments, maximising linear displays whilst ensuring that walkways and customers’ subconscious in-store movements are carefully engineered, improving previously poor performing areas in your store. More modern environments can also improve staff performance, creating enhanced workforce satisfaction.
A professional approach to project management ensures that we continue to be the partner of choice for occupied buildings, high-quality specifications, restricted site access and out-of-hours contracts throughout many industries.
We have an impressive portfolio of completed projects and over 70% client repeat business from large companies such as Magnet, where we have completed projects in London, Manchester and Dunfermline, offering assurance that we can professionally, efficiently and expertly refurbish your premises.

Fit-out projects are where we customise an interior space to meet the requirements of the client, often installing walls, flooring, partitions, lighting and other elements specific to their business and their industry.
What is the difference between refurbishment and a fit-out?
A refurbishment is where we freshen and improve an existing, previously used space, and a fit-out is where we create a usable space out of an empty space./p>
Which sectors do you provide fit-out services for?
We work with commercial and public sector clients in the healthcare, hospitality, education, retail and industrial sectors. We are also ready and capable of working with new clients that belong to an industry different from ours.
How long does an interior fit-out take?
Depending on the size of the project and its complexity, an interior fit-out can take anywhere from 6 weeks to over a year.
Do I need planning permission or building regulations approval for a fit-out?
You will likely need building regulations approval for a fit-out, to ensure safety and structural standards are met, but planning permission is most often not required, unless the project is large or changes the building’s use.
Can you work alongside architects or designers?
Yes, we frequently work alongside architects and designers, both as part of our own design and build service and when we’re hired as a contractor.
