Healthcare Interior Fit Out, Halifax

Posted on 22 April 2022

Pacy & Wheatley were selected to complete an interior fit out for Gama Healthcare Ltd for their laboratory in Halifax. The project involved creating a state-of-the-art, modern facility built for the production of medical aids and medication to put it on par with similar facilities elsewhere in the UK.

We have worked closely with the Architect and site Management to provide advice and ensure the smooth completion of the project, which was valued at £410,000. Much planning and co-ordination has been required to organise the project, especially as Gama Healthcare Ltd is a new client.

The fit out included the installation of new offices and laboratories in the client's existing building. We have installed new lighting and flooring, as well as new soundproof walls and ceilings. Our team has installed upgraded electrical lighting and completed interior decoration of the spaces too. The project included ensuring the resulting interiors were suitable for their intended purpose. They are required to be durable and help to maintain a safe and hygienic working environment. Through strategic planning and communication, our team made sure that the fit out matched the requirements, including health and safety needs.

Pacy & Wheatley provided an interior fit out service backed by years of experience, where communication and practical design were prioritised. We kept the clients updated throughout the process to ensure complete satisfaction at every point.

    Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were contacted in regard to getting involved in an urgent project to completely strip out and refurbish the Southwell Ward at Nottingham City Hospital. The brief to this project was that once commenced, this project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, a very tall undertaking based on the amount of work involved. However, after several meetings, a programme was put together which involved a large portion of the works being carried out on both days and nights, 6 days a week, in order to give all involved the best chance of completing the works to a very challenging timescale. The works undertaken involved the full strip out of the existing ward, including substantial M&E works, new flooring to all the wards, new doors, new counters and Kitchen units were also installed on the Joinery element of the works. New lay in grid Ceilings were installed along with specified LED Lighting upgrades and the whole ward was fully Decorated throughout.

This, in essence, was a monumental challenge for all involved, including the Architect, Consultants, the in-house NHS team, and, of course, the P&W site and Management team. The delivery of this project needed careful planning and completion of areas of the ward in a phased manner to ensure that all of the trades involved could access specific areas to complete their works. This was achieved for the most part due to thorough planning and due consideration given to all of the trades participating on the project.

Pacy & Wheatley have now delivered a modern, state-of-the-art facility for both Hospital patients and staff, completed in record time. Thanks must go to all involved for their dedication and application in ensuring we got over the line and completed this project. Many Thanks to both Adam Cox ( Site Manager ) along with Steve Shaw ( Project Manager ) and Charlotte Wheatley ( Project QS ) for their outstanding effort in delivering this project which was delivered with zero accidents which in itself is a testament to the planning and execution of the works.
