The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently undertaken our 4th major refurbishment for Wickes, which included a full commercial fit-out and refurbishment both externally and internally. Internally major changes were made where the existing kitchen, bathrooms, appliances and tap displays were removed and scrapped, and the new range displays were installed and decorated for the new Kitchen and Bathroom displays. Full decoration of the perimeter walls was also undertaken, and new flooring has been installed on the mezzanine floor. As part of this refurbishment, extensive work was carried out to the back-of-house staff facilities. Full decoration to the back of the house was also carried out, and new flooring, both Vinyl and Carpet, were installed in designated rooms and corridors within these areas.

The Challenge

This project was completed in 10 weeks, with 24/7 work being carried out throughout the refurbishment with zero accidents. A well-managed difficult logistical project achieved on time and within budget to the full satisfaction of a valued client.

A much better shopping experience for customers with a lighter, fresher feel to the sales area. In-store departments are now much more clearly defined. The staff areas also are now much brighter and fresher, with added well-being areas being formed.

    Nottingham University Hospitals, NHS Trust

Pacy & Wheatley Interiors were contacted in regard to getting involved in an urgent project to completely strip out and refurbish the Southwell Ward at Nottingham City Hospital. The brief to this project was that once commenced, this project needed to be completed in 12 weeks, a very tall undertaking based on the amount of work involved. However, after several meetings, a programme was put together which involved a large portion of the works being carried out on both days and nights, 6 days a week, in order to give all involved the best chance of completing the works to a very challenging timescale. The works undertaken involved the full strip out of the existing ward, including substantial M&E works, new flooring to all the wards, new doors, new counters and Kitchen units were also installed on the Joinery element of the works. New lay in grid Ceilings were installed along with specified LED Lighting upgrades and the whole ward was fully Decorated throughout.

This, in essence, was a monumental challenge for all involved, including the Architect, Consultants, the in-house NHS team, and, of course, the P&W site and Management team. The delivery of this project needed careful planning and completion of areas of the ward in a phased manner to ensure that all of the trades involved could access specific areas to complete their works. This was achieved for the most part due to thorough planning and due consideration given to all of the trades participating on the project.

Pacy & Wheatley have now delivered a modern, state-of-the-art facility for both Hospital patients and staff, completed in record time. Thanks must go to all involved for their dedication and application in ensuring we got over the line and completed this project. Many Thanks to both Adam Cox ( Site Manager ) along with Steve Shaw ( Project Manager ) and Charlotte Wheatley ( Project QS ) for their outstanding effort in delivering this project which was delivered with zero accidents which in itself is a testament to the planning and execution of the works.
