Project Description
Here at Pacy & Wheatley Interiors, we are privileged to be working with McLeod & Aitken and Barchester Healthcare, who are returning old clients of ours. This new-built care home has experienced an increase in dementia patients, so urgent upgrades to the second floor had to be completed to ensure their comfort and safety.
The refurbishment consisted mainly of decoration and new flooring in the corridors and amenity rooms to follow the Memory Lane scheme and safety features that are assigned to all Barchester Healthcare homes. We also transformed an old therapy room into a new sensory room by installing a star gaze ceiling panel to bring the beautiful night sky indoors for everyone to enjoy.
The Challenge
The works had to be completed in 4 weeks, with each room being completed independently due to the home remaining in operation during refurbishment. However, this is not something we at Pacy & Wheatley are new to, as we understand both the home's and patients’ requirements and how delicate an environment such as this can be. So, with this understanding, we had to ensure that health and safety on site were maintained to the highest possible standards, and working closely with the staff and their schedules made it possible to keep residents comfortable and happy while work was carried out.
Thank you, and well done to our site manager, Mark Jinkinson, for coordinating and delivering this project.
