The Project
Pacy & Wheatley were appointed by Atlas Hotels on a tendered basis to complete interior refurbishments to the entirety of the public areas of the Holiday Inn Express in Birmingham. The hotel was recently purchased from a competitor and was looking tired and dated, having not been refurbished for a considerable time. The HIX had to remain open during the 6-week period whilst works were in progress. As health and safety was a top priority for the project, the public area within the ground floor was sealed off. Our team completely gutted the area, knocked out various walls and totally redesigned the internal fabric of the public areas. We carried out installation of new ceilings, new flooring and new lighting, along with forming an entirely new reception, bar and buffet area. We also fully refurbished the kitchen and public toilets, and completely redecorated the whole of the public areas. The project took place during a tight, 6-week programme and was handed over on time and on budget with zero accidents. Atlas Hotels are absolutely delighted with the finished product which was designed and completed to the agreed specification. The project resulted in a brighter, more modern, user-friendly public area.
