Healthcare Fitout Worcester

Project Description

Pacy & Wheatley has completed the 2nd Eye Health Clinic for Newmedica, a healthcare fit out project in Worcester, who is one of the leading independent sector providers of NHS funded ophthalmology services in England.

On this project we stripped the building back and started from scratch, all new partitions had been installed, forming theatre, specialist operation rooms and lots of consulting rooms. After the rooms were formed, they all had a full new M&E systems installed and an up to date specification interior fitout, which consisted of flooring, decoration and FF&E.

The project was split across 2 floors so to aid in transporting materials and patients to the 1st floor we installed the Newmedica team, with a new lift to ensure safety and ease when moving around the building.

We had worked tirelessly over the 2 floors, and we handed over a fantastic project to the new staff and they opened on time and in budget.

Interior Refurbishment Doncaster Royal Infirmary

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley were appointed on a tendered cost basis to carry out the external and interior refurbishment of the emergency department area 1 of Doncaster Royal Infirmary hospital which is the place where people brought in by Ambulance are admitted. This area of the Hospital was originally built in the late 1960’s. The works involved creating a new space between A&E admission and some existing back office space for Ambulance teams to bring patients into the building. The works were undertaken over a 13-week period pre- and post-Christmas 2020. The work also included the installation of new admin reception areas including new state of the art glazed counters, new flooring, full decoration and the installation of a new ceiling system. New Water supplies and a heating system was also installed. Externally new automatic entrance/exit doors were fitted and the car park within the designated area was resurfaced in order to ease the use of trolley beds gaining entrance to the newly formed area The solution has resulted in a brighter more modern entrance area which logistically eases the pressure on the NHS staff operating in this department. The new facility has been received very favourably by all of the staff and patients arriving into the Hospital who will now receive quicker, more professional treatment within a very modern state of the art facility.

Healthcare refurbishment and extension, Nottingham

The Project

The first phase was to build a Brick extension to the existing CT area. The Second Phase was to refurbish the current CT6 block. The extension needed to be built to form a covered walkway leading to other Hospital locations so that patients who were ill and had undergone scans were not exposed to the elements when being taken back to the ward areas. Once this extension was completed and fully utilised, we refurbished the existing sites, including a new reception and treatment area in the CT Section. New treatment rooms were formed along with a modern and comfortable waiting area. New Toilets were installed, as well as offices and storage rooms. Many trades were involved in the refurbishment areas where new air conditioning, new LED lighting, new flooring, extensive decoration, new doors and new windows.

Interior fit out, Sheffield

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed a 12-month interior fit-out and refurbishment project of Ward 6 at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, creating a newly transformed Cancer and Leukaemia ward. This involved a complete strip out, taking the building back to a concrete shell. We also built an extension at the back of the ward to form a new doctor’s office with kitchens and places for the staff to relax on their breaks. In the new ward area, we created bespoke ensuite bedrooms, interactive playrooms, school rooms and more for the children to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Around the back of the hospital, in between 3 buildings, we manufactured and installed a steel mezzanine plant deck at roof level, on this 2 new AHUs and 2 new chillers were built servicing ward 6 and the ED department sending fresh filtered air into the ensuites. Our works included new mechanical and electrical installations, new partitioning and ceilings, replacement of all external windows on the entire hospital and roof coverings, all the joinery in the bedrooms was bespoke, making the new rooms bright and welcoming, it is now a more comfortable place to stay.

Healthcare refurbishment, Doncaster

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Interiors are proud to have completed a healthcare refurbishment project at Bessacarr Medical Centre. The Bessacarr Medical Centre in Doncaster was originally built in the late 1980’s and since then there has been very little work carried out to the centre aside from day to day maintenance. Whilst the practice is still very functional it was decided that it was in need of a facelift. We were appointed on a negotiated cost basis to carry out an upgrade to the dated and drab looking medical centre. The works involved the relocation of the reception counter to the front entrance area as opposed to the back of the waiting area. Lighting was upgraded internally and a new larger administration office was formed with new carpets being installed along with full decoration being carried out both externally and internally and the heating system was also upgraded. The works needed to be coordinated in such a way to minimise disruption to patients attending the practice so all works were carried out on either nightshift or weekends. The majority of the works were carried out in small pockets of the practice so program coordination was of paramount importance so as to ensure the works were completed on time and to the required standard. The level of the correct coordination resulted in zero accidents taking place making this a safe project to be involved with. The solution achieved was a brighter, more patient friendly practice with the staff having a better more functional environment to work in.
