Interior fit out, Sheffield

The Project

Pacy & Wheatley have recently completed a 12-month interior fit-out and refurbishment project of Ward 6 at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital, creating a newly transformed Cancer and Leukaemia ward. This involved a complete strip out, taking the building back to a concrete shell. We also built an extension at the back of the ward to form a new doctor’s office with kitchens and places for the staff to relax on their breaks. In the new ward area, we created bespoke ensuite bedrooms, interactive playrooms, school rooms and more for the children to make their stay as comfortable as possible. Around the back of the hospital, in between 3 buildings, we manufactured and installed a steel mezzanine plant deck at roof level, on this 2 new AHUs and 2 new chillers were built servicing ward 6 and the ED department sending fresh filtered air into the ensuites. Our works included new mechanical and electrical installations, new partitioning and ceilings, replacement of all external windows on the entire hospital and roof coverings, all the joinery in the bedrooms was bespoke, making the new rooms bright and welcoming, it is now a more comfortable place to stay.

Healthcare refurbishment, Doncaster

The Project

Pacy and Wheatley Interiors are proud to have completed a healthcare refurbishment project at Bessacarr Medical Centre. The Bessacarr Medical Centre in Doncaster was originally built in the late 1980’s and since then there has been very little work carried out to the centre aside from day to day maintenance. Whilst the practice is still very functional it was decided that it was in need of a facelift. We were appointed on a negotiated cost basis to carry out an upgrade to the dated and drab looking medical centre. The works involved the relocation of the reception counter to the front entrance area as opposed to the back of the waiting area. Lighting was upgraded internally and a new larger administration office was formed with new carpets being installed along with full decoration being carried out both externally and internally and the heating system was also upgraded. The works needed to be coordinated in such a way to minimise disruption to patients attending the practice so all works were carried out on either nightshift or weekends. The majority of the works were carried out in small pockets of the practice so program coordination was of paramount importance so as to ensure the works were completed on time and to the required standard. The level of the correct coordination resulted in zero accidents taking place making this a safe project to be involved with. The solution achieved was a brighter, more patient friendly practice with the staff having a better more functional environment to work in.
